The Outsiders Play Advocates (TOPA), as it would suggest in our name, place a high value on play, and focus on providing endless play opportunities for children in our care. On top of this, our goal is to provide Bardon SS with a community driven OSHC service that is tailored to the families and children that exist within the community. As Approve Providers and OSHC operators, it is our responsibility to provide your child with a play based, well rounded childhood. We see our role as to provide a space where children can explore, find safety, create, challenge themselves, grow, learn, overcome frustration, develop resilience, all through intrinsically motivated, personally directed and freely chosen play. TOPA achieves this through highly trained, committed and passionate staff, as well as providing a variety of engaging and playful physical environments that promote the space and service a 'second home' environment to children, families and staff.
We believe that OSHC has the opportunity to provide children with the space they need to develop their social, physical and emotional selves through intrinsically motivated and personally directed play. Both our Before School Care (BSC) and After School Care (ASC) sessions give children the opportunity to socialise in a child led environment and develop their confidence in overcoming risk, becoming problem solvers and developing a passion for learning through the natural play drive.
Before School Care (BSC):
Booking children into BSC is a great opportunity for your child to ease into the school day in a playful and low-stakes environment. Weather it is reading in our quiet corner or getting their energy out through the Ninja Warrior Playground, BSC gives your child the best chance of entering their school day regulated and ready to learn.
Operating times: 6:30am – 8:45am

After School Care (ASC):
ASC gives the children an opportunity to blow off some steam with friends and peers. Children will naturally integrate the information they have learnt throughout the day into their play in a way that allows them to have a deep and personal understanding with that information. Our engaging ASC program, facilitated by our highly trained Playworkers, helps to develop further connections with the school grounds, continuing to build a sense of community and belonging at Bardon SS.

Vacation Care:
With specific themed days to keep the children engaged all day, our Vacation care programs have proven to be a great way to get your child out and playing with others throughout the school holiday period. We generally aim to have one incursion and one excursion per week to ensure the children have a variety of experiences during the school holidays.
