Who are we?

The Bardon State School Parents and Citizens Association is a group of interested parents and community members who come together to discuss ideas, plan and deliver initiatives that facilitate school improvement, and support the quality education of our children.

Each year an Executive Committee is elected from the parent group and supported by an enthusiastic and hard-working community. We may be a small school, but we are well supported by parents, friends and the broader Bardon community.

2024 Executive Committee

President: Molly Jarred

Vice President: Rachael Downes and Kay Ashton

Treasurer: Liz Adams

Secretary: Freyr Patterson

What do we do?

Each year the P&C runs several fundraising activities, generating funds to improve the school and to support our dedicated and hardworking staff. While raising funds to maintain our services is critical, these events also serve to benefit the wider community by providing an opportunity for families to get involved and get to know each other in fun and social settings.

We also operate a number of services for the school community including:

  • Tuckshop – open Monday, Tuesday and Thursday
  • Uniform Shop – open Friday before school or online

How you can help?

Become a member – membership for the P&C is open to all parents and interested community members. Membership must be renewed at the beginning of each year and forms can be submitted any time online or in person to the school office.

Attend monthly meetings – both members and non-members are welcome to attend meetings either in person or online. Only members have voting rights but we welcome ideas and discussion from all attendees. This is the most effective way to have your say about what is going on in the school.

Volunteer – In a modern world this can mean so many things! If you have time to give, we would love you to give a few hours working in the tuckshop or at a P&C run event. Perhaps you have a business contact that could sponsor an event? Or maybe you have a professional skill (accountants, event planners, graphic designers etc) or superpower that would benefit the regular running of the P&C? We know that over time your ability to contribute may ebb and flow, but every little bit counts, and we appreciate everyone who contributes.

Still have questions?

Please feel free to contact us anytime via PandC@bardonss.eq.edu.au with questions or feedback – we'd love to hear from you!
